THE SELECTION LADDER
BITFF uses a clear selection ladder so filmmakers understand where their film stands.
1. Official Submission
Every film that completes a paid submission is acknowledged as an Official Submission.
2. Longlist / Consideration
A pool of films identified for deeper review.
3. Official Selection
Films selected for festival screening and program lineup.
4. Nominees
Top films shortlisted for awards consideration.
5. Winners (Banjara Cine Awards)
Award recipients are announced during the festival awards program.
6. Official Touring Selection
A curated set of selected films invited to travel with BITFF touring programs.
Touring invitations depend on program curation, venue fit, and filmmaker consent.
SCREENING FORMAT
BITFF uses a hybrid model to balance curated in-person screenings with broader global access.
Physical Screenings
A focused in-person program featuring curated screenings, filmmaker engagement, and awards moments.
Online Showcase
A limited-time online showcase for eligible selected/shortlisted films, expanding reach to global audiences.
Online availability may vary by region and platform, based on rights and filmmaker consent.
THE BITFF TOURING FRAMEWORK
Touring at BITFF is not automatic and not guaranteed.
Films selected into the Official Touring Selection may be invited to participate in curated BITFF screening programs across different cities, regions, or partner venues during the edition year.
Touring opportunities are designed to be flexible and opportunity-driven, based on programming fit, venue partnerships, and audience relevance.

This model allows selected films to extend their festival life beyond a single event, while ensuring that touring screenings remain curated, contextual, and meaningful.
