ABOUT BANJARA INTERNATIONAL TOURING FILM FESTIVAL

Taking Independent Cinema Beyond Borders

About Us
Banjara International Touring Film Festival (BITFF) is a global platform for independent cinema, designed to travel across cities, cultures, and audiences. The festival operates with a filmmaker-first philosophy and a hybrid exhibition model that combines online accessibility with curated physical screenings.
BITFF focuses on discovery, recognition, and extended visibility for films beyond a single festival event.

Origins & Evolution
Founded in 2014, BITFF began as a local physical international film festival initiative in Navi Mumbai, India, hosting screenings and engaging filmmakers from multiple countries. Over subsequent editions, the festival expanded through curated international screenings, including editions held in Europe.
Following the global pause during the pandemic years, BITFF is now relaunching as a U.S.-based festival, formalizing its long-standing multi-location approach into a clear touring-by-design model with global participation.

BITFF recognizes artificial intelligence as an evolving creative tool in contemporary filmmaking and welcomes AI-assisted cinema as part of its forward-looking approach.
What Makes BITFF Different
Touring by design — not limited to a single city or venue
Hybrid exhibition model — online access combined with physical showcases
Filmmaker-first visibility — clear rules, limited awards, transparent processes and global promotions
