Rules & Detailed Information - 5th BITFF
1) Entries at BITFF are open to all International, national and regional films.
No restriction on the production year or on the release status of the film/video - online or offline.
2) We are accepting submissions in below 6 categories :
(A) Student Short Film (school/college ID card must be provided) :
Subcategories: Fiction/Drama, Animation, Documentary, Social awareness or other.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject or genre of the film.
Duration should be 45 minutes or less.
(B) Professional Short Film :
Subcategories: Fiction/Drama, Animation, Documentary, Social awareness or other.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject or genre of the film.
Duration should be 45 minutes or less.
(C) Feature Film :
Subcategories: Fiction/Drama, Animation, Documentary, Social awareness or other.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject or genre of the film.
The duration should be more than 45 minutes.

(D) Scripts/Screenplays- Short :
Short film/teleplay scripts with lengths from 1-45 pages in English only.
The font size must be 12 points and in courier type.
Pages must be numbered in the top right-hand corner.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject or genre.

(E) Scripts/Screenplays- Feature :
Scripts/Screenplays with lengths from 46-120 pages in English only.
The font size must be 12 points and in courier type.
Pages must be numbered in the top right-hand corner.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject or genre.

(F) Music Video :
It can be of a band or a solo artist.
No restriction on the topic, theme, subject, language or genre.
Duration should not be more than 10 minutes.
3) Awards: BITFF is a competitive festival with cash awards, trophies and awards in-kind in different categories finalized by the festival panel and jury.
4) Subtitles: Films can be with dialog, silent or without dialog. All films must have English subtitles. We may ask for subtitles in a different language if your film is selected, depending upon the country/region where our event will be held.
5) ENTRY DEADLINE for submissions are as follows:
Early bird: Till 30th April 2019
Regular: 1st May - 31st July 2019
Late Deadline: 1st August - 31st December 2019

Regular Entry: US$ 20 or 1400 Rs
Late Entry: US$ 23 or 1600 Rs

7) Submitting Your Film/Script/Video :
Film/Script/Video can be submitted directly to BITFF online or by courier or through our online submission partner- FilmFreeway.
Please do not forget to enable download options on these platforms as we need them for preview purposes.
Poster and Synopsis of the film (max 200 words) must be uploaded on these platforms.
Producer's/ filmmaker's direct contact details must be provided for the notifications, even if any agency is submitting on their behalf.
8) Participants can send multiple entries. However, please submit a separate entry for each film/script/video.

9) BITFF provides free social media publicity and advertising to all the submissions, worth thousands of dollars, whether selected or not. However, the festival management reserves the right to promote any film on its sole discretion and this cannot be claimed/challenged by any participant.

10) Once the film/script/video is shortlisted for festival screening/competition, We will ask you to:
a) Send us as soon as possible the publicity material, if required.
b) Send us the screening copy. We will mail you detailed instructions regarding screening format.
11) Once entered, submission cannot be withdrawn from participation at BITFF under any circumstances.
12) A. By submitting work to BITFF, filmmaker/producer/submitter takes the whole responsibility of copyright issues of music, script and other creative and technical aspects of the film.

B. He/she accepts the responsibility for the accuracy of the information supplied and authorizes BITFF to reproduce & use personal/company's contact information as supplied. The applicant/submitter confirms that he/she has the requisite authority or has obtained the requisite authority from the producer/right holder/concerned authorities to enter, screen, advertise and publicize the work in the Banjara International Touring Film Festival and/or elsewhere and make available the print for screening. BITFF is not responsible /answerable to any copyright/legal issues regarding submitted work.
C. Scripts must be the original work of the applicant(s). If based upon another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, the applicant(s) must secure any necessary rights to make such adaptations. However, it is not necessary to submit the adaptation or rights agreements to the festival. Festival does not attest the authenticity of an applicant’s statement of authorship or rights secured. By entering the competition, you are acknowledging that you have secured all necessary rights.

D. By submitting the work/material, the applicant hereby agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the festival, its employees, directors, representatives, and affiliates from any liability, claims, and damages in connection with the submission and from any fees and expenses, including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees, that any of them may incur in connection therewith.
13) Notification of selections will be announced on the official website/social media platforms as per schedule (tentative date -31st March 2020 for the 5th BITFF). However, the festival management reserves the right to change the dates, accept or refuse any submission without assigning any reason whatsoever. There may be multiple intermediate festival events or tours for which the selections will be done from the submitted works. We may declare the result of shortlisted films/scripts/videos on a quarterly or six-monthly basis depending on our tours. For example, one selection list may be announced in March for our April tour and another in July for our August tour.
14) Filmmakers/delegates of shortlisted films/scripts/videos will be invited to attend the festival. However, the festival may not arrange or reimburse for travel/stay expenses of the participants attending the festival.

15) Festival management/organizers shall determine selections and award winners at their sole discretion. The decision of the BITFF festival management regarding all matters not expressly provided for, in these rules and regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above shall be final and cannot be challenged.
16) Though we will be doing our best efforts & arrangements to screen selected films in the topmost commercial quality during the event, we cannot guarantee a commercial cinema hall display or effects, as screening may be held in an auditorium.
17) Shipping and Insurance: All costs, if any, related to the shipment of the film, publicity, promotional and photographic material to and from the BITFF will be at the expense of the participants.
18) Participants/Production Companies may contact BITFF for the promotion of the film, their brands/Logo etc during the festival event or online promotions. Please send an email to "contact@banjaracinema.com" with the subject line as "promotions" to get more information about this.
